EZAE, the Association of Cinema Rooms of Euskadi, launches the Day of the Basque Cinema, a new initiative that has the double objective of attracting young people to the cinema and of presenting to the new generations some of the most well-known and popular works of Basque cinematography. Nine cinemas of EZAE will screen during the second fortnight of November the film 'Mutant Action', Álex de la Iglesia's debut film and cult film that advances black humor and violence as hallmarks of Bilbao's director.

Tickets will be sold at a reduced price in order to favor access to the rooms of younger viewers. In addition, members of the film team have been invited to present the film in theaters.

A quarterly initiative
This initiative has the support and collaboration of Filmoteca Vasca and Kimuak, an annual catalog of short films made in Euskadi. The Basque Film Day will be held quarterly and, in future editions, the selected film will be accompanied by a Basque short film from the Kimuak program. Likewise, the filmmakers involved in the production of the selected works will be invited to participate in the screenings in order to present their work.
