ANA MURUGARREN, WON THE BEST DIRECTION AWARD IN THE ALBUQUERQUE CINEMA AND MUSIC FESTIVAL WITH 'LA HIGUERA DE LOS BASTARDOS'

The Albuquerque Film & Music Experience has awarded Ana Murugarren with the Best Direction Award for La Higuera de los Bastardos, starring Karra Elejalde, Carlos Areces and Pepa Aniorte. Perry King also got an special mention for "The Divide".

 

For six years the festival has been the new bet of the New Mexico Film Commission and the city of Albuquerque, which thanks to the world famous Breaking Bad serie is attracting filmmakers from all over the United States. Ana Murugarren received the award from the festival's executive director Iván Wiener. For years, the public relations of the Watergate Hotel in Washington DC and personal assistant of the late Denis Hooper highlighted the beauty and magic with which Ana Murugarren had narrated such a dramatic story between executioner and victim.

The festival has also hosted the presentation of the documentary by Jeff Bridges "Living in the future past" on the sustainability of development and "Seed. During the festival the twenty-five years of "Purple Rain" were commemorated with the screening of the film and a live concert at the "Hotel Andaluz", the venue of the festival, by members of the band Dez Dickerson and Micki Free and the drummer Tom Petty's band Steve Ferrone.

Ana Murugarren attended the screening of "La Higuera de los Bastardos" at the Guild Cinema located at 3405 of the famous "Route 66" that crosses Albuquerque from West to East as its Central Avenue.
