Zineuskadi - Europa Creativa Desk MEDIA Euskadi has organized a workshop focused on the writing of fiction and documentary feature film projects for next July, under the direction of renowned analyst Miguel Machalski.
The scriptwriting workshop that will be held from July 2 to 4 at the Centro Cultural Montehermoso from Gasteiz will offer personalized diagnostic advice (feed-back, ideas, suggestions, practical advice ...) to the following writers: Beñat Fontaneda (La sirena), Andoni De Carlos (Greenland), David Pérez Named with Marina Parés Pulido (Ane), Maru Solares (Aztarnak), Paul Urkijo (The Three Waves) and Myriam Ballesteros with Txema Ocio (Eguzki). Among the selected projects there are 3 documentaries and three fictions of which one is an animation. The main objective of these days will be to guide the writers in the development process to carry out a good film project. Machalski is a specialist in the development of film scripts: analysis, consulting, teaching, translation and writing. He facilitates workshops in Europe, Latin America and Asia, and intervenes as an advisor in projects from all over the world. In the words of the facilitator "the audiovisual project consultancies are meetings where the advisor and the authors investigate together the motivations, the objectives, the creative processes and the different facets of the film in its initial phase, which is the script. We examine on the one hand the plot, the structure, the characters, the theme, the genre and the tone, and on the other side the viability, the target audience, the adequacy between the production costs and the market potential and the general relevance of the draft."
In addition to the personalized sessions, it will also offer a Masterclass open to professionals in the film industry on the morning of July 2 at Monterhermoso itself. During the talk will try to identify the components of what in the world of cinema is called as a "powerful story."
